RU2 Fast-850 Radar Speed Trailer
Perhaps RU2's most popular model, the Fast-850
embodies what a radar trailer should be; a bright 18" tall
amber AlInGaP LED character display raised to a commanding
7-1/2 foot tall profile assisted by gas springs for quick
setup, a low 38” high transport profile that makes it even
easier to tow, one (1) group 27 AGM aviation grade battery
for power* and a reasonable 580 lb. curb weight to keep the
pranksters at bay. This trailer, like all of our trailers
is supplied with a K-Band, single directional radar unit,
a standard in the industry.
The Fast-850 comes complete with automatic
ambient light adjustment, flashing number violator alert,
low speed display limit, high speed blanking and flashing
traffic management arrows (L&R) at no additional charge.
A UV and graffiti resistant white polyester powder coat finish
over a high-zinc epoxy primer, 13" ST rated tires on
white steel rims, swing down stabilizers, 2-ton rated axle, and a 2" ball hitch
complete this very popular trailer package.
In addition the Fast-850 can be equipped
with our RU2 Systems Data Acquisition
Package that records the time, date and speed on oncoming
vehicles without the use of cumbersome pneumatic tubes placed
across the street. The data is collected onto a Secure Digital
card and brought to your desk for analysis. There is never
a reason to bring a laptop computer into the field to interface
with a RU2 trailer! In addition, the data can also be collected
in “stealth” mode; no speeds are displayed, so it appears
the sign is off so normal traffic patterns can be recorded.
*Expect 7 to 10 days operation from one battery. The base battery can be supplemented by additional batteries (max. 4) and/or
an optional 50-watt solar panel. This solar assist with one or two batteries makes
the trailer virtually field autonomous in many environments.
